Overview

MyLinks Dashboard ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you organize and view your bookmarks in a beautiful dashboard interface. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

In short: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Data Collection

MyLinks Dashboard does NOT collect any personal data. Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
  • Browsing history or web activity
  • Financial or payment information
  • Location data
  • Health information
  • Authentication credentials
  • Any form of analytics or usage tracking

Permissions Used

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • Bookmarks (Read-only): This permission allows the extension to read your Chrome bookmarks and display them in the dashboard. We only read bookmarks — we never create, modify, or delete any of your bookmarks.
  • Storage: This permission is used to save your category preferences locally on your device. This data never leaves your computer and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Data Storage

All data processed by MyLinks Dashboard remains entirely on your local device. The extension uses Chrome's local storage API to cache bookmark categorization for improved performance. This cached data:

  • Is stored only on your device
  • Is never transmitted to any server
  • Is never shared with any third party
  • Can be cleared by removing the extension

Third-Party Services

MyLinks Dashboard does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. We do not use:

  • Google Analytics or any other analytics service
  • Advertising or tracking scripts
  • External APIs that process your data
  • Cloud storage or synchronization services

The only external resource used is Google Fonts (loaded via CDN) to provide consistent typography, and Google's favicon service to display website icons. These services may log standard web requests according to their own privacy policies.

Data Security

Since all data remains on your local device and is never transmitted externally, your bookmark data is protected by your own device's security measures. We have no access to your data and therefore cannot be a source of data breaches.

Children's Privacy

MyLinks Dashboard does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. The extension does not collect information from any users, regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. All your bookmark data and preferences are stored locally on your device and are under your complete control.
